I agree to him on this one because most cadavers (for anatomy purposes) are men becauss the bias are: Women has numerous unecesaary fats, the muscles were small, some glands were tiny and many more. Most models in anatomy are men. So yeah. The only subject I came across in all of my medicine education thas full women part is - OB-Gyne subject.

are american doctors just psychiatrists? All have obvious biases, abrasive and refuse to believe other people exist and all that jazz? Now lemme rant a little about one of my experiences, I'm a caucasian male teen who has massive familial issues that lead to become suicidal to an almost chronic degree, I was often told by psychiatrists I was "doing it for attention" and other perfect arguments, one even threaten to call the cops on my fat arse because I'm an emotional mess even though I posed no threat. in other words, fuck psychiatrists.

Another interesting story: Last week i was talking with a female friend about her upcoming wedding. She needed to change the date at the venue where she is having it and thought if she called it would be a simple process that wouldn't take very long. She called 10 TIMES and kept getting the run around from the male employee she was talking to. All these bullshit excuses and rigmarole. Her husband went down there and 30 minutes later the date was changed. And that literally happened last week. It's supposed to be her special day and this is how she gets treated? I suggested she change the venue. If she does she loses her $600 deposit. It's ridiculous the sexism that is still alive and well these days.

Case in point: friend of mine suffered a back injury when he was younger and was doing physical therapy for years. Finally his doctors pretty much told him there wasn't anything they could do other than prescribe him 180 muscle relaxers a month. Not surprising he got addicted to them. And yes, he was white. To the cops he was a drug addict even though they were prescribed to him.

Oh discrimination isn't just with physical problems too-- mental health problems are exactly the same way. I'm AFAB (assigned female at birth) and I have both ADHD and very probably ASD too. Because both of those are considered to be "little white boy" diseases, I wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until I was 16. We still don't know about the autism because testing is extremely expensive. As a result of not being diagnosed and treated for my ADHD for so long, I now have Numerous other mental health problems, from anxiety to depression to frickin PTSD (all diagnosed). And I'm LUCKY, believe or not. I got diagnosed at 16, correctly the first time around, and I'm white. If you throw in race for ADHD and autism, you're much more likely to be misdiagnosed with BPD or ODD. So. The whole system is a damn mess from the toes to brain and full of biases.

Basically, with sex the issue in medicine is that it assumes conditions present the same in men amd women, and with race the issue is that people think conditions present super differently for no reason whatsoever. So stupid.

I've been suffering from Herpes for 4 years, taking different medicine, trying to make sure I cure myself completely but it was all in vain. I heard there was no cure for herpes. I had given up hope about ever getting a cure for my herpes until one day I saw a post from someone about how she was cured from Herpes by Dr. Isah Johnson. First I never believed until I saw another testimony about Dr. Isah Johnson again this time I was curious. I contacted him and told him about my Herpes. He assured me not to worry that he was going to cure me. He prepared a powerful herbal medicine and sent it through UPS courier delivery service for me which I took according to his prescription. Today I'm a living testimony about his great herbal cure. For those who are not sure about who to contact because they are afraid, worry no more. I've never EVER been given drugs for anything. Not once. I've always been told to just take some ibu-fucking-profin. Most of my friends have a stock pile of drugs. On the occasions that I have had pain, including one occasion where I believed I was having a heart attack, they told me I was wrong. I'm not a person of color, but many people of color laugh at this. They are dismissing my experience because racism can be the only factor that is relevant. They make it clear that only their experience matters. Obviously, it can't be greed or incompetence that means something. Only the color of your skin. When they say black lives matter, I think that they are saying only their lives matter. Black lives matter is racist too. It means you're the same. Congrats on that.

So the Final Attack is to go full Karen... funny... I'm a white man and none of that worked for me... all I got was a "man up and get a job. Here are some crazy pills, now get the fuck out of my office." By every female physician and psychiatrist I ever had.
MCPunk55 28 ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ
Meh... I take it with a grain of salt, at least when it comes to the sexes. See, men are expected to "man up", in any scenario, which, as it has happened, and still happens to me, makes physicians actually ignore and abandon us, especially when the problem is a chemical unbalance in the brain called Major Depressive Disorder. If there's so much "male privilege" in medicine, why is the male suicide rate prohibitively high? Why are men the most affected by workplace casualties and injuries? Keep in mind, what I'm saying, is WORLDWIDE. America is not the world, it's the cave where those who ran away from natural evolution reside, and even in America, you will find what I'm saying.

Aside from the biases of women of color and women in general I wish he would have brought up the biases against people in recovery as well. I know too many people in recovery who have been treated like they are lying about their pain to get pain medicine. You have to treat everyone as an individual in the field of medicine. I don't understand how treating groups of people the same helps any situation. You would think overpaid doctors would do anything to have a spotless reputation.

British Propaganda Parrot spews all this crap about an invisible satanic force of patriarchy. No bich. Quit blaming others. Doctors, just like all of us are humans no worse than you (no kidding). We learn to generalize. An average woman goes to a hospital because she like feels icky. So doctors learn to ignore womens health complaints. An average man is carried to a hospital when he has to be carried to a hospital. Thats why doctors take men's health complaints seriously. I just read about a man who had a broken up piece of cotton swab inside of his ear canal and it lead to brain infection. This m0f0 reported "yeah, there was a pint of discharge per day for 3 months and i had serious memory problems, but it was only today that blood actually started gushing out of my ear non stop which didnt bother me, but made me get worried about drowning in my own blood while asleep". There are endless stories about males like this.

yeah, some missing numbers, just based on first 8 minutes of this video: what is the percentage of women reporting heart problems and not having one in contrast to men? They cite that women are 7 times as much likely to be misdiagnosed and send home BUT if for 100 men turning in for ER citing heart problems 99 had heart attack and for 100 women in same situation it turns out to be 50 you then know where the bias comes from. I took numbers of my ass, but they should be cited here to give full case. It is just anecdotal, but as far as i know men really avoid medical assistance until is unbearable and often to late, where women do not (which, let me say is much smarter!), but statistically it does probably mean that women DO exaggerate more often! Then it is not some inherent bias...

The belief that pain should be endured is common among people who are really really Catholic. Suffering is what Jesus did for us. That, and dying, but everybody dies and does that to the same extent, right? However not everyone suffers in life to quite the same extent, right? Besides, Jesus got resurrected, as was customary in those days. In the Catholic faith suffering and dying are related. The more you suffer the less you die. I'm Belgian. Together with the Irish, the Polish and most Hispanics, I am supposed to believe that shit.

That being said, I've never been accused of looking for drugs so your mileage may vary.

Doctors will sometimes treat overweight or obese people differently too. For example, attributing their symptoms to obesity even when it has nothing to do with it. Or dismissing them in general like they’re thinking “these people won’t take care of themselves so why should I bother?” (Note: obesity isn’t always as simple as “not taking care of oneself”. There are numerous physical, psychological and social factors).

I started experiencing intermittent chest pains in the end of 2016, and went to the Drs one night to have them tell me it was probably due to anxiety or stress, and at the most it was costochondritis (an inflammation of the cartilage in your chest). They said to just relax. A few months later, the chest pains got more regular and I started developing breathing problems. Back to the doctor, this one said that it was probably costo (not that they’d done any tests to confirm) and suggested I take up swimming because it’s great for stretching out your muscles. Over the next couple of months, I went back to the doctors three or four times, one suggested asthma, others kept saying anxiety (despite my mother being a clinical psychologist and thus would have recognised anxiety). Then it got to the point where I could barely talk for more than 30 seconds and my partner couldn’t hug me without causing a coughing fit. I had lost heaps of weight and was regularly experiencing night sweats and other symptoms but just kept shrugging them off because I didn’t want yet another doctor to insinuate I was a hypochondriac. One week it got so bad that I took myself to the emergency room. After a simple chest x-ray, they found a giant tumour in my chest that was taking up where my left lung should have been and pressing on my heart. Three days later, they diagnosed me with Hodgkin lymphoma. That was about six months after that first doctor’s visit. Would have been nice to be taken seriously the first time I went. Luckily all good now but still pretty pissed about all of doctors I saw previously. Just adding my story to the growing collection of people not being taken seriously by doctors.

"Most studies show that blacks have higher blood pressures than whites, and that hypertension-related mortality is significantly greater. Significant pathophysiological differences are present, on the average, between blacks and whites. Blacks tend to have higher blood volume, lower plasma renin activity, and lower kallikrein excretion." A quote from someone online

I had a terrible knee injury worst pain of my life when I went to the hospital they put my leg in a cast and told me to take Advil and sent me home. They told me I’d have to wait 2 months for a ct scan. Constant pain every day. When I finally see the knee specialist for the ct scan he is shocked to see I have been living with this injury he says it needs urgent surgery my meniscus is completely torn and flipped out of place. The pain I was feeling was literally the cartilage in my knee ripping apart and grinding against my bones while moving out of place. For TWO MONTHS. I am sure it was because I was a 17 year old girl at the time they brushed me off. I’ll need a knee replacement by 40, I cannot bend or straighten my leg as much as I could before, and within 5-10 years I’ll have arthritis I’m only 22 right now. So fucking angry to this day my knee gets sore and it’s just annoyed to live with.
